A friend of mine once told me that on these personal adds we have to present ourselves in a marketable kind of way. I instantly thought about a modern day slave auction block; being prodded, eyeballed, and breeding potential evaluated in the middle of the town square.
Yet, I could not help but wonder about how much I would be worth. What would be the value of a cool, strong*, educated, creative, thoughtful, adventurous, kindhearted, ambitious, patient, athletic, practitioner of active listening, lover of music, poetry, and diversity?
I gotta believe that may be worth at least a few minutes of your day to stop, brave-heartedly and confidently introduce yourself to a potential new friend, new convos or old conversations, new discoveries in this temporal world.
Besides, aren’t we all hopefully presenting ourselves in ways that people may see some worth in us?
